Our Product Portfolio

Alpha has traditionally focussed on support to foreign investment in the region or on component sourcing from Central Europe. Progressively, Clients are demanding ongoing support to their operations, often in strategy, productivity, incentives, HR and systems development. Alpha’s portfolio matches these requirements and is both best European practice and locally robust. The portfolio consists of:

• Inward Investment. Alpha supports its clients from ‘business idea’ to ‘post implementation’ with an emphasis on delivering results on the ground. Recent clients include American Safety Razor, Jeyes Group and Swallowfield Ltd
• Acquisition. Alpha supports acquisition of local companies either alone or with Client’s own specialist consultants and staff. If advice is required in the UK, Alpha’s partners are ‘Corporate Acquisition’
• Strategy and business planning. Clients are usually delighted that the results of inward investment projects exceed their best expectations. Their reaction is often ‘what next’? Alpha is able to help to answer this question by revisiting the original business idea and taking it further, perhaps into sourcing, new sales initiatives, setting up design, development, administration functions, etc. Alpha uses a ‘One Page Strategy’ process using specialists from the UK together with local resources and, of course, the Client’s team.
  
  One page strategy can be implemented through training the Client’s staff or with a more hands on approach from Alpha.
  
  Business planning needs local understanding of available resources, costs, grant and forecasts of additional sales or reduced operational costs. Alpha has a broad knowledge of these data throughout the region
  
  
• Performance Improvement. The principal reasons for investment in Central Europe are normally the supply of quality and lower cost workers coupled with the access to new markets. When these projects have been bedded in, company management is able to take advantage of other performance improvement measures. Of these, the greatest return on investment is usually local sourcing of materials, components, semi-finished products and packaging materials. Labour productivity can also be improved through well though through group incentive schemes. Alpha has experience in these and other areas
• Sourcing. Companies, large and small, benefit from Alpha’s knowledge of the region. Whether a company wishes to identify sources to be contacted by itself or is looking for complete management of the process, Alpha is able to deliver the results, normally with very significant savings in cost delivered to site elsewhere in Europe. Recent examples of clients include Terex, Bombardier Transportation, SICK Engineering and Hyster and Yale fork lift trucks
• Research. Alpha carries out research on available locations, sites and buildings together with research on labour availability and rates throughout the region as part of inward investment projects. Additionally, Alpha carries out 200 or so individual research projects each year ranging from simple questions to more complex requests
• Marketing and Sales. Alpha has assisted many companies with the identification of target markets and companies in Central Europe and with the establishment of local sales and servicing operations
• Human Resources. Alpha provides a full range of HR services, from organisation planning and advice on pay and conditions, to executive search, recruitment of management (Production, Finance, HR, Procurement, Quality, Technical Specialists) and workforce (Supervisors, Operators, Line Workers)
• Training. Alpha provides a range of local training services either using own resources or in partnership with Western experts. Alpha is particularly strong in the Strategy, Marketing and Sales and Project Management areas
• Interim Management. Alpha’s staff and associates have provided in house management services. Recent projects have included ‘General Manager’, ‘Procurement Manager’ and ‘Production Manager’
• Legal, Accounting and Administration. Alpha is fully familiar with setting up ‘Joint Stock’ and ‘Private’ local businesses, managing bookkeeping and payroll needs and providing all necessary local administration including registered address, trade licences, multi currency banking, interpretation and translation and provision of office space
