The Alpha team consists of a core team of consultants supported by specialist Associates. Our establishment includes:

Angus Mathews

A chartered mechanical engineer, formerly worked in the oil and gas industry as a Project Development Manager for Dresser-Rand, Central Europe. Based in Prague since 1996, he speaks Czech and French. Since joining Alpha in 2000, has managed investment projects throughout the region including establishment of new manufacturing facilities, strategic outsourcing programmes, organising investment seminars, development of business opportunities and relationships between CEE and UK / EU / international partners, manages contacts with regional investment agencies (CzechInvest, Sario, PIAZ, ARIS, ITDH).

Colin Glover

A native Scot, Colin has lived in Prague for 16 years working in commercial property in the capacity of Cost Manager, Project Manager and Real Estate Developer working with such companies as Doughty Hanson, Markland Holdings and Red Group. He has over 20 years experience of delivering a first class service to Customers. He is a passionate exponent of sustainable and green issues.

Ing. Eva Smolíková

A native Moravian graduate from the Czech Technical University of Prague. She has nearly 3 years of experience in Project Management on the developer side of the real estate business and 2 years of part-time experience as a designer in designer studio during her studies. Eva specialises in grants and financing for environmental projects to deliver the optimum solution to clients for their businesses and homes using the latest technologies.

Michal Švarc MBA

After completing his MBA studies Michal has concentrated on consultancy, especially in PR and Marketing.  He previously worked with Ogilvy & Mather and IBM. Michal’s role is Business Development Manager, using his experience and contacts to help clients understand the options available to them and to identify the optimum solution to their needs.

Bc. Filip Kofránek

Filip successfully completed his bachelor degree at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, specialising in architecture and civil engineering, at the CTU in Prague. He continues his studies towards a master degree. During his studies he worked for almost 2 years in an architectural studio as a designer. Filip is very interested in passive house design and assists in the preparation of Project Design Documentation.

Rodney Yeadon

An engineering graduate and past chartered civil and structural engineer, he gained design, site and project management experience in the petro-chemical sector before joining PA Consulting Group as a specialist project management consultant. He managed major projects in the UK, Brazil, Jamaica, Hong Kong and Turkey before directing PA’s UK oil and gas and utility businesses. In 1991 he retired from PA to set up Alpha businesses in the UK and Czechoslovakia. He has invested in other businesses in the Czech Republic and has advised and supported many Western companies considering the benefits of a low cost Central European operation.

Evženie Býmová

A Czech national with university degree in English and Russian with qualifications in accounting, she is responsible for Alpha’s commercial management and for client interfaces in the Czech Republic. She has particular expertise in the application and management of EU and Czech Government grants. She also leads Alpha’s programmes for setting up local companies for clients and acting as their first Jednatel (Responsible Executive).

Renata Krausová

Educated in hotel and business management (including psychology). She has worked for recruitment agencies for several years, dealing with candidates for both temporary and permanent positions. Her experience covers the full range of recruitment activities from candidate search to interviewing and employment contract negotiation. Similarly, she has recruited for the full range of company positions, from production workers to senior management. She is able to provide consulting advice on HR and employment relations both to clients and candidates.

Wioletta Augustyn

A Polish national with a diploma in Public Administration from the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Poland. She has experience in CEE research and supplier identification and has specific responsibility for the Polish market. She is fluent in Polish, Czech and English languages.

Anthony Wilson

Over 25 years experience in business development in strategic collaborations, corporate finance and management consultancy sectors, Tony has extensive and successful experience with product commercialization projects, working as advisor, manager and proprietor in the UK, continental Europe, and US and Pacific areas. He also has extensive experience with Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), capital and corporate re-structuring including deal sourcing and negotiation. In particular, Tony’s track record extends over building up international sales networks and hands-on assistance to client companies. Tony is a Member of the CDI Global international network for company searches and M&A projects. As an Associate at Alpha, he develops our corporate service capabilities, strategic partnerships including company searches, divestments, M&As, joint ventures and other forms of cross-border deals in Central and Eastern European markets.

Stuart Roberts

Stuart Roberts is an experienced multi-lingual business manager and consultant specialising in strategy development, human resources management and business team performance improvement. For Alpha, Stuart works on the basis of an Associate. He has a degree in Slavonic Studies from Cambridge University and completed a postgraduate diploma at Charles University, Prague, in the late 70s. Stuart’s career has covered a wide range of operational, planning and management functions (HR Manager, Export Sales Manager for Eastern Europe, Country Manager, Managing Director etc.). Stuart is fluent in spoken and written Czech and is an active user of French, Russian, German and Polish.

Vladimír Havránek

A graduate in systems engineering, Vladimír previously worked as a computer programmer, analyst and project leader in a large metallurgical enterprise. He received his executive MBA diploma from the US Business School Praha and studied an English postgraduate course at Charles University in Prague. Vladimir has also worked for an innovative American IT company as a Country Manager, has run an electronics contract manufacturing project for a leading Czech IT company, and has worked as a consultant for foreign companies entering the Czech Republic. At Alpha, Vladimír works as a project manager and strategy consultant. He is fluent in English and speaks some Polish.

Peter Dunn

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Peter was previously International Human Resources Director for a major multinational FMCG business and, subsequently, Vice President of two Polish subsidiary companies. His specialty is managing complex restructuring/change projects, often involving sensitive negotiations with Trade Unions. Resident in Poland since 1995 his experience includes, organizational development, advising on pay and benefit structures, executive search and, assisting new investors in establishing a Polish legal entity through to reaching full operational status.

Eduard Berka

 Czech national, speaks Slovak, Polish, English, German, French, Russian. Research Manager with over 35 years Import / Export / Procurement experience within Czech foreign trade organisations. Product and company identification of suppliers and partners in Czech, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, FSU, ex-Yugoslavia. Reporting on tax, customs, prices, local legislation for European, American, Japanese clients.
