The Alpha team was awarded a contract to carry out an Engineering Scoping Study for UK Trade & Investment, British Embassy in Prague.

The brief required desk and ‘on the ground’ research, analysis and recommendations on the tangible and intangible opportunities and threats for UK engineering companies wishing to sell their products and services into the Czech market.

The study provided a subjective and objective overview of the commercial and business culture as well as specific information on particular economic issues. In particular the study focussed on the key players in various market segments for a range of engineered products and services. As a conclusion the study outlined key routes to market for specific engineering sub-sectors, plus further recommendations for the UK engineering sector.

Alpha researched necessary data from a variety of sources including; 

  • Alpha’s own ‘in house’ databases including previous research and studies carried out in the engineering sector
  • Manufacturers Associations, Trade Associations, Economic Chambers, Czech Government and other official bodies.
  • Published information and other data in the public domain (internet, directories, catalogues, trade shows)
  • Discussion with individual experts in particular fields
