Foreign Direct Investment attracted by Romania in the first four months 2009

Inward FDI attracted by Romania during January-April 2009 reached EUR 2055 million, covering once again Romania’s current account deficit.
FDI structure for the period referred to was:



  • 51.2% - participation to the capital;



  • 40.0% - intra-group credits;



  • 8.8% - reinvested profit.


Figures registered in the first four months of 2009 confirm the trend forecasted by the Romanian Agency for Foreign Investment and encourage ARIS to reaffirm its prognosis on Romania attracting a total inward FDI of Euro 4.5-5 bill by the end of the current year.
