Inward FDI in January 2006 as reported by NBR

According to statistical provisional data provided by the National Bank of Romania, in January 2006 inward FDI reached EURO 699 million, compared to the same period last year, when inward FDI registered EURO 234 million; figures revealing a 199 % increase in FDI as against same period 2005.In January 2006 the most important element in inward FDI was “other capitals” (inter company transactions) amounting EURO 384 millions as 55% of inward FDI, secondly coming the “reinvested earnings” amounting EURO 178 millions as 25% of inward FDI, followed closely by equity capital amounting EURO 137 millions as 20% of inward FDI.According to National Office of Trade Register, statistical data indicate 881 companies by foreign investment registered in January 2006. As concerns the subscribed capital –indicator that refers to the total value of the contributions in cash and assets subscribed by shareholders while setting up a company as well as increasing the initial capital during companies lifetime, it reached EURO 105.6 million.
