Inward FDI for 2005 according to the NBR statistics
( 01 / December / 2005 )
According to provisional data as provided by the National Bank of Romania in the Balance of Payments published in February 28th, current year, inward FDI in 2005 reached Euro 5.197 billion.
As far as FDI volume in 2005 is concerned, it registered a 26.8% increase against same period 2004 when it reached EURO 4.098 billion.
ARIS experts estimate that the result of BNR statistic research together with National Institute for Statistics for 2005 that is to be released at the end of 2006, will highlight a revised figure of EURO 6 billion FDI. It’s worth mentioning that NBR and NIS statistic research for 2004 emphasize a revised figure of EURO 5.183 billion.
2005 was not a year of great privatization, because even though the Commercial Bank of Romania privatization by Erste Bank was closed by the end of last year, in terms financial gain the benefit is yet to come, for it is not until 2006 that the state will receive the EURO 2.2 billion.
