Leading Indicator for Poland brings good news

The leading Index for Poland increased by 1.5 points in December 2005, marking the second consecutive monthly increase. Economic conditions appear to be very good at the end of 2005 and the beginning of 2006; almost all of the components of the index are improving. In addition to continually growing export, domestic demand becomes stronger as well.
Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles (BIEC) informs, that companies are receiving more orders. However, for the first time in a long time, while the domestic orders’ portofolio increases, the orders of products designated for export are decreasing.
“Reasons for such situation are probably the growing strength of PLN and in difficulties, that Polish exporters encounter when selling their products to Russia”, wrote BIEC representative, Maria Drozdowicz.
