High level of satisfaction index

( 02 / March / 2005 )

Poles are the most optimistic among all EU members. According to the European Commission experts it is a sign that Polish economy will develop 2-3 times faster than the European average.

In February the European Satisfaction Index of entrepreneuers and consumers in Poland reached the level of 142.8% of previous average results. In Lithuania, which ranked on the second position, the index stood at 114%. Within the Euro zone the index level fell below 100%. It is a result of poor economic results in Germany, Italy, Spain.

According to experts, entrepreneuers are more optimistic due to the fact that EU-related threats turned out to be unrealistic. Companies from many sectors took advantage of the European integration and have successfully entered Western markets.
Due to this the economy is fuelled by growing domestic demand and exports.

Monthly research of satisfaction index in the EU is one of most important indicators. Its results forecast the development of European economies over the coming years. Trust of entrepreneuers results with investments growth and growing consumtion among customers.

”Polish appeared to be much more entrepreneurial than other European societies. Given proper tools and conditions the Polish are able to catch up very fast. This year we might witness a temporary slow down of economic growth amounting to 4.5%, however, in 2006 and 2007 the growth should increase up to 5- 5.5%. Still, a slow down for Polish economy remains matchless dynamism for Western Europe,” Krzysztof Rybiński, member of Monetary Policy Council, told Rzeczpospolita daily.
