British-Japanese company Mi-King opens new plant in the Czech Republic

British-Japanese company Mi-King launched production in their new centre to process steel rolls in the Czech Republic (in Kolin, Central Bohemia). This investment worth more than 30 million dollars will create at least fifty new jobs in the region. In the new facility Mi-King will process products made of rolled steel and other flat materials. Annual production volume at the new plant should soon reach up to 200 thousand tonnes of steel.
The founders of Mi-King, Japanese trade and investment company Mitsui&Co. and British sheet metal processor William King Ltd, chose the Czech Republic mainly thanks to the presence of its traditional customers (e.g. Futaba and Linde-Wiemann). Furthermore, the demand for services of similar processing centres in the Czech Republic and neighbouring Central European countries continues to grow.
“Using the supportive industrial services of external providers allows producers to concentrate on key production processes. In the Czech Republic, unlike Great Britain, this is not usually the case, however,” commented René Samek, director of CzechInvest’s London office. “I hope that besides Mi-King’s traditional customers the services of their Kolin facility will soon be used also by Czech manufacturers.”
Mi-King will get the basic material in the form of large steel rolls from various European and global producers.

Mi-King is a joint venture of Japanese trade and investment company Mitsui&Co. and British sheet metal processor William King. The company’s main customers are manufacturers of automotive components, domestic appliances and components, companies in the packaging industry that supply makers of automobiles and automotive components, producers of stoves, washing machines, freezers, microwave ovens, CD players, office supplies, tins, fireplaces, bathtub units, floor covering for computer rooms and many other products in construction and industrial branches.
