Belvac Europe
Belvac Europe is part of the Belvac Production Machinery, Inc., a Dover Group company based in Lynchburg. VA, USA. Belvac is a world leader in the production of machinery for manufacturing drink cans for the soft drinks and brewing industries. Belvac Europe services the company’s machine in location throughout Europe and the Middle East and provides spares and components for upgrading machines.
Belvac Europe decided during 2003 to establish an additional Service Centre in the Czech Republic to support the HQ operation in the South of England. The Czech Centre would service Central and Eastern Europe locations as well as the Middle East and would consist of warehousing, workshop and office areas. Alpha Management Consultants was commissioned to support the establishment of the Centre at a suitable location in the Czech Republic.
Alpha supported this investment project in a number of ways including:
Supporting the establishment of a Belvac Branch Office of Dover CR spol. s r.o., an existing ‘holding company’ for other Dover activities in the Czech Republic
Obtaining Trade Licenses and Operating permits
Identifying the optimum location for the Centre. Plzen was selected because of access to local customers, Prague Airport and Germany
Finding a specific site and suitable building and negotiating leases with the Developer to modify the building to suit
Preparing project management processes, project plans and progress controls
Acting as Project Coordinator for the complete programme
Advising on the setting up of procurement systems
Arranging bank accounts, bookkeeping and payroll services
Assisting with residency permits and applications for Jednatel status for incoming staff
Providing the translation, interpretation, administration needs of the project
In mid 2004, Belvac took possession of their new Service Centre. The Company has senior management in post, expatriate and local staff, local suppliers and all operating permissions
