The Czech microelectronics and electronics industry has been around for over 120 years. The former Czechoslovakia was home to the Tesla conglomerate with over 60 subsidiaries around the country, many of which still exist, offering foreign investors long term experience within the Czech microelectronics and electronics markets. The electronics and microelectronics industry with its 180,000 employees is the second largest in the Czech Republic.

Currently, the Czech microelectronics and electronics industry can offer the full scope of production activities: electronics components manufacturing, consumer goods manufacturing, high current technologies, computer and peripherals assembly, R&D and more. The network of technical universities and their geographical locations ensure a supply of qualified workers in almost every region of the Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic offers a solid background for the electronics industry not only in terms of investment climate, infrastructure and competitive costs. The country’s high standard of technical education with one of the world’s largest proportions of graduates in technical fields, along with extensive R&D experience in the EE/electronics sector, has resulted in an extensive pool of researchers, convincing numerous companies not only to establish their manufacturing operations in the Czech Republic but also to utilise the local R&D potential.
